Prayers Recited in Our Worship

The Morning Meditations
(Rise with sun if you can. Go outside or to a window. This is a time to
prepare for the day. Ground yourself in what is important.  Make yourself
one with God and Creation.)

I and my Father are One.
All that I am is in my Father.
All that is in my Father is within me.

Father God, all powerful creative force of the universe, I love you. I thank
you for your guiding love, strength, knowledge, creative ability, and
protection. You are my Father. I am your child. I remove from myself all
barriers to Your presence…all anger, bitterness, resentment, and pain. I
receive you within myself. We are one.

(Close your eyes, take three slow deep breaths. With each inhalation, feel the
Father enter through your solar plexus. In ancient cultures, this was the
center of the Masculine Divine. With each exhalation, allow the Father to
infuse your entire being.)

I and my Mother are One.
All that I am is in my Mother.
All that is in my Mother is within me.

Holy Spirit Mother, sweet Comforter and nurturing force of the universe, I
love you. I thank you for your gentle love, peace, guidance and intuitive
Wisdom. You are my Mother. I am your child. I remove from myself all
barriers to Your presence…all worry, anxiety, fear and pain. I receive you
within myself. We are one.

(Close your eyes, take three slow deep breaths. With each inhalation, feel the
Mother enter through the place between your eyes. In ancient cultures, this
was the center of the Feminine Divine. With each exhalation, allow the
Mother to infuse your entire being.)

I and creation are one.
All that I am is within this creation.
All that is in this creation is within me

Dear Yeshua, Son of Man and of this world, I love you. You came before me
to show me the Way. I welcome your guidance as I walk my preordained
path through this life. Yeshua, help me embrace my destiny and find my
true purpose and place in this reality. Guide me in the Way.

(Close your eyes, take three slow deep breaths. With each inhalation, feel
Light enter into your mind.  With each exhalation, push out all negative
thoughts and feelings. Allow only Light to remain.)
One Word Prayers

Many cultures in the world have developed greetings that express the
highest values of that culture. These words were in effect one word for peace,
completeness and welfare. The Arab greeting, Salaam 'Alaykum also is a
prayer of peace.
In our Essene church we have adopted two one word prayers that we feel
best represent our culture and our beliefs.
We welcome with "Aloha". Aloha is the traditional greeting of the Hawaiian
Islands. In Hawaiian culture, it was believed that one's divine spirit was
found in the breath.  Originally when Hawaiians greeted one another they
shared breath. The Hawaiian word for breath is "Ha". The word aloha means
I recognize that you and I share the same divine breath. We as Essenes also
believe that each of us shares the same Divine Spirit. We believe it is
important to begin conversations with acknowledging our shared Spirit. So
we adopted this one word prayer when our ministry began on the Big Island
of Hawaii and continue it today.
Our other one word prayer is "Namaste" This is a traditional Indian term
that is very similar to the Hawaiian prayer, Aloha. I literally means
" I bow to that Divine Spirit that is  inherent in you."
We use this as a parting prayer...a way of leaving an encounter with another
person with respect and reverence due that individual. We invite you to try
these one word prayers. If you do not want to say them aloud, say them in
your mind as you begin and end conversations with others. We think you will
find, as we have, that entering and leaving with reverence and respect for
the Spirit will make your conversations and interactions with others more
peaceful and productive
Morning Meditations Specific to the Day of the Week

Saturday- (Sabbath) Embrace our Eternal Mother. Blessed is the child who
knows and honors the Mother. She is our comfort and our peace. She births
us into the family, raises and nourishes us as we grow. And as each morning
comes, I embrace her.

Sunday - Embrace our home in this universe - planet earth. The Earth is the
Lord's and the fullness there of. Blessed is the child who honors the creation.
This world is the provider and the sustainer of life. Her harvest becomes our
body, her waters become thy blood, her winds will carry our spirit, and as
each morning comes, I shall embrace her.

Monday - Embrace life. In everything that has life is the Holy Law written.
All life speaks to us and if we listen, we can understand the tongue and the
will of the living God. May I gain the wisdom of the connectedness with all
that there and as each morning comes, I will embrace the beauty of life.

Tuesday -  Embrace Joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Allow that joy to
well up in your heart and bubble out like a spring. Think of a newborn child.
Resolve to see the world through the eyes of a child today. Fresh, new and
innocent. Experience the newness, be the child. And as each morning comes, I
will embrace the blessing of Joy.

Wednesday - Embrace the Sun.  Arise, shine, for the light has come. The sun
is the fountain of light that warms our days and lights our path. It is by its
glory that man is born to live the words of the Holy Law, and as each morning
comes, I shall embrace the sun's life-giving rays.

Thursday - Embrace Water. Whether lake or stream or water of the well, it is
our source of life. The waters that rage in the rivers and the rains that fall
from the sky are the same as the blood that flows in the veins of my body. It
washes us clean and quenches our thirst and as each morning comes, I shall
embrace this symbol of God's spirit.

Friday - Embrace Air. With our first breath,  we begin life on this earth. For
our body must breath air before our spirit may breath the Holy Law of the
Heavenly Father. And as each morning comes, I shall embrace the gentle
breeze of the air I breathe.

"To make the human heart a temple, the soul an alter, and the mind a
priest. These were the missions of Jesus the Nazarene." ~Kahlil Gibran
                                       Noon Contemplations
The contemplations are based on the Essene concept of maintaining a life of
peace with all. The Essenes defined this as the sevenfold peace - peace with
God, God's creation, culture, mankind, family, one's own mind, and one's body

Saturday (Sabbath) - Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around
us and within us, send Your angel of peace to guide us to you.  On earth as it
is in heaven. Make us one with You.

Sunday - Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around us and
within us, send Your angel of peace to your creation. Help us to restore this
world to what you would want it to be and bring joy to all its inhabitants.

Monday - Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around us and
within us, send Your angel of peace to all cultures. Give us wisdom to grow
together rather than grow apart.

Tuesday - Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around us and
within us, send Your angel of peace to humanity and help all mankind find
their calling, the work that they were meant to do. Let us each coordinate our
work for the benefit of all.

Wednesday - Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around us and
within us, send Your angel of peace to my family and friends. Let Your love
flow through me to them.

Thursday - Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around us and
within us, send Your angel of peace to my mind. You have not sent me a spirit
of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. Free me of any fear and
anxiety and keep my  mind grounded in Your clarity.

Friday -Our Father and Mother who are in Heaven, and around us and within
us, send Your angel of peace to my physical body. Help me to keep it clean,
whole and healthy as an appropriate temple for Your Spirit.

"The Holy Temple can be built only with the ancient Communions. Those
which are spoken, those which are thought, and those which are lived."
~Gospel of the Essenes
Evening Prayers

Evening is a time to regain peace and balance.
"In your anger do not sin" Do not let the sun go down while you are still
angry, and do not give the devil a foothold."

The Lord's Prayer
(Essene Adaptation)

Our Father and Mother
who are in heaven,
and around us,
and within us,
Holy is Your Name.

Your Kingdom is upon us
as is Your will.
You are here on earth
and in the heavens.

We are never in need
because You always provide.
By forgiving our mistakes,
You have taught us
to forgive others.

You  lead your children
in the path of light,
and guide us away,
from the darkness.
Because Your kingdom,
and power,
and glory,
are within us.

Evening Prayers Specific to the Day of the Week

Saturday (Sabbath) - Father and Mother descend upon my soul and bless my
spirit with the splendor and the knowledge of eternal life. And as each
evening comes, I shall embrace thee.

Sunday - Father and Mother, as I prepare for a new work week, descend on
my mind with Your creative power. Make my mind a fertile place, where
healing herbs and beautiful flowers blossom and grow. The mind that is idle is
full of the weeds of discontentment, but he who has found his task shall not be
in want of other blessings. And as each evening comes, I shall embrace thee.

Monday - Father and Mother, descend upon me with Your peace. Give me
the ability to greet all with the spirit of peace. For I know one day Your peace
will prevail over the earth as the waters cover the sea.

Tuesday - Father and Mother, descend upon me with Your strength and
power. Guide me in that power to direct my thoughts, my actions, my words
and my deeds; And as each evening comes, I shall embrace thee.

Wednesday - Father and Mother, descend upon me with Your love. You are
love and as I love, I mirror you. Yeshua taught us,  Thou shalt love thy
brother as thyself; and every one who loves is born of the Heavenly Order,
and shall drink from the well of eternity. And as each evening comes, I shall
embrace thee.

Thursday - Father and Mother, descend upon me with Your wisdom.
Descend upon me with Your intuitive knowledge and enlighten my thoughts,
my mind, my intentions and my deeds. To follow the holy law is the root of
your blessings, and as each evening comes, I shall embrace thee.

Friday ( Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday night) - Holy Spirit Mother,
descend upon me. Fill me, prepare my heart for Sabbath. Allow me to be one
with the Father through You.
"The Holy Temple can be built only with the ancient Communions. Those
which are spoken, those which are thought, and those which are lived."
~Gospel of the Essenes
